Microsoft Edge PDF Features
You don’t need Adobe Acrobat to do the following: 
1. Viewing PDFs
Microsoft Edge allows users to open and view PDF files directly in the browser without needing additional software. If the PDF is online it will open within the browser. If the PDF is not online you can drop it into Microsoft Edge to view it. Here’s how:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Drag and drop the PDF file into the Edge browser window, or right-click the PDF file, select "Open with," and choose "Microsoft Edge."
The PDF file will open in a new tab within the browser.
Use the toolbar at the top of the screen to navigate through the PDF, zoom in/out, and switch between different viewing modes.
Tip: You can use the search function (CTRL+F) to find specific text within the PDF.
2. Filling Out Forms
Edge supports interactive PDF forms, enabling users to fill out and submit forms within the browser. Here’s how:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Drag and drop the interactive PDF form into the Edge browser window, or right-click the PDF file, select "Open with," and choose "Microsoft Edge."
The PDF form will open in a new tab within the browser.
Click on the form fields to start filling out the required information. Use the keyboard to type in the necessary details.
If the form includes checkboxes or radio buttons, click on them to select the appropriate options.
Review the completed form to ensure all required fields are filled out correctly.
Once you have finished filling out the form, you can save the completed form by clicking the "Save" button in the toolbar.
3. Adding Comments and Highlights (Annotate)
Users can highlight text and add comments or notes to PDF documents, similar to features in Adobe Acrobat. Here’s how:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Drag and drop the PDF document into the Edge browser window, or right-click the PDF file, select "Open with," and choose "Microsoft Edge."
The PDF document will open in a new tab within the browser.
To highlight text, select the text you want to highlight, right-click, and choose "Highlight" from the context menu.
To add comments, right-click on the text or area where you want to add a comment, and select "Add comment" from the context menu. Type your comment in the text box that appears.
Use the toolbar at the top of the screen to navigate through the PDF and manage your annotations.
Tip: Use different colors for highlights to differentiate between various types of information.
4. Drawing and Marking Up
Edge includes drawing tools that let users annotate PDFs with a pen or highlighter. Here’s how:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Drag and drop the PDF document into the Edge browser window, or right-click the PDF file, select "Open with," and choose "Microsoft Edge."
The PDF document will open in a new tab within the browser.
To draw or mark up the document, click on the "Draw" icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
Select the pen or highlighter tool from the options provided.
Use your mouse or stylus to draw or highlight text and areas within the PDF.
Adjust the color and thickness of the pen or highlighter as needed using the toolbar options.
Once you have finished drawing and marking up the document, you can save the annotated PDF by clicking the "Save" button in the toolbar.
5. Saving Edits
All changes made to a PDF in Edge can be saved directly, allowing for easy sharing and record-keeping.
