In Spring 2025, the Konica Minolta printers/copiers in the Woodruff Library, Rose Library, and Business Library will be replaced with new Ricoh devices. The Technology Support and Training team will manage the installation and configuration. Key updates include default black-and-white, double-sided printing, address book export, removal of faxing, and automatic deployment of printer packages. What’s Happening?
Starting this week, we will replace the existing United Office System's Konica Minolta (BizHub) multifunction printer/copier devices with new Milner' Ricoh multifunction printer/copier devices in the Woodruff Library Building, including Rose Library and the Business Library. This change is part of a new contract initiated by Emory University. 

The Technology Support and Training team will coordinate the installation and configuration of the new devices with designated staff. A document has been created/attached with the old device name, and the details of the new device name and locations. Please note that some of the Laser Jet printers will not be replaced but will be renamed. In general, key updates include:

  • Default Print Settings: All devices will default to black-and-white, double-sided printing. Users may manually select color or single-sided printing via the print dialog box.

  • Address Books: All address books will be exported to the new Ricoh devices by the vendor before installation.

  • Faxing: Has generally been removed from all new Ricoh devices.

  • Printer Packages: Automatically deployed to all staff computers for nearby devices.

Training & Support

  • An in-person training will be available at a later date and a notice will be sent.

  • A data glossary will be distributed, and an FAQ document will be created based on questions received throughout the project.

  • A User Guide has been provided by the vendor.

After deployment, the old Konica Minolta devices will be removed from the buildings, and their printer packages will be uninstalled from staff computers.

What Do You Need to Do?

  • After installation, ensure the new printer packages are on your computer and perform a test print (you may need to restart).

  • Can I still use the Hold/Locked Print feature on the new Ricoh IM C2510 copiers?

    • Yes, you can still use the Hold Print and Locked Print features on the new Ricoh IM C2510 copiers. Hold Print allows you to send a print job to the printer and hold it in memory until you manually release it.
