Demographics/User Characteristics

• Familiar with the parent collection’s content and consumers
• Generally unfamiliar with repository product interfaces
• Typically is the content creator using a self-deposit service, but may also be a designated proxy who assists the content creator
• (Note: richer deposit-oriented user profiles will be provided by the Deposit FRG)

• Irregular (as needed to maintain content)

General Motivators/Goals

• Contribute to the larger collection’s preservation and dissemination goals
• Maintains one or more individual digital objects’ intellectual content over time
• Contributes updates to Descriptive metadata for their objects
• Designates appropriate rights and level of access to the content
• Monitors usage of the content

Key Repository Management Tasks

• Coordinates and/or requests maintenance for individual digital objects and their constituent files
• Maintains descriptive metadata for content
• Coordinates with depositors to maintain content
• Troubleshoots issues at the individual object or file level
• Clarifies appropriate use and copyright for content
• Runs/requests analytics for usage of their content

Repository Content/Information Desired

• Metadata editor/updater for descriptive or rights metadata
• File manager for replacing files within an object
• Versioning interface
• Analytics/usage dashboard (object-level)
• User profile/proxy dashboard

Library/Unit Interactions

• May report to a single Library, or may be a self-depositor who utilizes one or more campus Libraries
• Works with Collection Managers and other Emory staff to deposit and maintain materials
