Updating Alma Certificate / Metadata

  1. Schedule a time with the Shibboleth Team to update the metadata.  Will take 10-15 minutes, so you'll need to plan for downtime.

  2. Go to Alma > Configuration Menu > General > External Systems > Integration Profiles

  3. Select EMORY SHIB profile and go to Actions

  4. STOP! DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER UNTIL YOU'RE ACTUALLY READY TO UPDATE THE CERTIFICATE BECAUSE IT WILL BREAK ALMA ACCESS AND LIBRARY SEARCH REQUESTING!

  5. Change Alma Metadata File Version to the new cert version

  6. Generate metadata file

  7. Give metadata file to Shibboleth person and tell them to take the cert from it and update the Alma and both Primo configurations.  They ONLY need to update the certificate, as nothing else in the metadata changes.

  8. Save file

  9. Test Alma login and requesting in Library Search
